Re: Anyone wish they DIDN'T buy an Evo?
I've had zero issues. It's been mentioned that the phone has only been out two weeks. The HD2, another great phone, had some major problems initially, but HTC took care of some of them. Plus the XDA community handled the rest. That's how all the phones I've had have been. I got the TP2 after it had been out for a year. If it wasn't for the ROM cooks I would have replaced it quickly.
But with this phone, I love it. I'm not rooted, because I don't need to be rooted. I'm just patiently waiting for the official froyo release (which should address some of the complaints people have - market, flash, etc).
The Iphone4 is the same as its predecessor except for a higher pixel count and some late-to-the-game features (cameras, multitasking, etc). The same basic layout is still present (homescreen-apps). Android, WinMO allows for customizations. Moreover, iphone doesn't allow you to use out of market apps. (plus the Android market is growing faster than the Iphone's) It's a very tightly controlled system (more stable yes, but less enjoyable). Plus, AT&T cripples the Iphone as an actual phone.
It all depends what you want out of your phone.
