Yes, I use Swype with SMS-Chat all the time, BUT I had to go to Swype Ver 3.9. That is the gray colored one with the numbers going down through the middle of the keyboard. I've posted it a couple of times if you want to click on the paper clip and find it. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll send it to you another way.
