Now it does disable the messaging client but it screws up the unread count on the messaging tab and disables MMS for me.

It seems to bog down (HTC MSG Client) with lots of texts or if you restore lots of text messages with myphone etc. If you want htc msg client disabled I made a rom awhile ago with it disabled use that or if you do it yourself I posted an arcsoft imagio cab in this thread to give you mms without HMC. Anyways I have a newer better working version (HTCMessaging_Client_1_8_20161228_00 that I modified from OBOE dump) that will be included in future builds. I tried a com3 24xxx sys and it had many issues and will not release it. Just waiting on a com5 update. Another idea to consider willywonkaisrsh, is to learn how to cook your own rom to suit your own tastes. Like myself I never really like anyone else's rom and thats why I cook my own to suit my own likes and dislikes.
