They will allow you to purchase but probably wont activate it until you upgrade your plan. I was able to purchase another one over the phone with account services on one of my Free and Clear line that was eligible for the $150 phone upgrade. I don't have to activate it on that particular line but I was told whichever line I activate the phone on I will have to separate that line into an Everything data plan. I will try though but I already know the answer.
