I notice the same issue with the keyboard. I can't type too fast even if I wanted. The screen doesn't respond as quickly when you move from one letter to the other. In my case I don't think I'll ever type faster on the on screen than with my TP2 keyboard. The best keyboard for me is Smart Keyboard Pro since it has a voice button. What I miss is touchpal 3.5 on my TP2. I can type pretty fast with that thing one handed. I tried the touchpal version for android but it's just not the same with the capacitive screen on the Evo plus it doesn't have a voice button.
