Like the others have said, you never have to reboot in linux. You can just grab advanced task manager from the market
Set the "Auto kill level" to aggressive
Set "Auto kill frequency" to every hour
And make sure to ignore any programs you need to have running constantly.

If you get a program that can reboot your phone, you'll need root access. If you rooted your phone the correct way, then you've already demonstrated the ability to do complex task like holding the power button for 2secs when you need to power off.
