I installed CHT 1.8 yesterday, and also got the constant lock screen. It seemed that if I took my stylus off the screen for more than about 5 seconds it was locking down on me. Even after uninstalling it, and going back to the previous version it was still doing it.
Finally, after getting VERY aggravated, the little light in my head came on, and I went into the regular WinMo backlight settings, and found that CHT 1.8 had changed those settings to dim the screen in 5 seconds, and turn it off after 7 seconds. Changed it back to my usual 1 minute before dim, and 3 minutes before off, and that fixed the problem.
