i will admit i was def. one of those who said i would never get a phone without a keyboard. but typing on the incredible is soooo much easier
for me personally than typing on the tp1, tp2 or the imagio i had. chalk it up to multitouch or resitive/capacitive whatever but its much easier.
as far as functionality goes i would call it about even at this point (john i know your slingbox isnt there yet you dont have to say it) but android has a lot of functionlity that isnt available on winmo as well.
-i can press the button on my headset, say "dont forget to pickup the dry cleaning at 6" and it automatically puts a reminder in my calendar. the speech recognition is ridiculously accurate and thats just one of the many uses for it.
-my phone switches profiles based on gps location, when i walk in my office, automatically goes to vibrate, when i walk back into the house switches right back to normal without touching a thing.
-tasks apps on android actually integrate into the calendar!! who wouldve thunk it lol!
-when i plug in my wired headset, the music app launches by itself.
-once froyo drops, real flash content,
chrome to phone extensions, and more
-dunno if anyone is political but with the congress app i can view all my local reps (by gps) see the latest bills they have voted on, contact them directly etc.
-gaming, not even a contest. (perhaps more hardware related but im not sure)
now i know some of you will say "i would never use any of that anyways" ok you may not but the fact that the functionlity is there says a lot. i dont want to turn this into a pissing contest and im fully aware that theres things you can do on winmo that arent possible with android yet, key word being yet. people tend to forget android hasnt even been around 2 years and the progress its made is ridiculous. imagine when its been around as long as winmo has. ive drank the koolaid and its yummy
im not a winmo downer at all like i said earlier i still use my tp2 quite frequently. are there still a couple bugs in android that irritate the crap outta me for sure there are but honestly i would say at this point the os's are about even.
