For those of you who use android devices, have you used google voice at all?

I just received my invite and was playing with it today, however hope I did not make a critical mistake. I chose to use a google number, rather than using an existing number. I am thinking about switching to android soon and was wondering how many use the google voice application on their phone.

The only really neat feature I found was receiving voicemail in emails and via text. However, when a friend calls me it just says "Google voicemail user". Could not figure out how to get it to say my name, etc.

So what do you think, with all the data plan requirements any ways, is google voice even worth it to use?
