06/01/2010 01:16:01PM System: "Thank you for contacting Sprint. My name is Samantha S."
06/01/2010 01:16:01PM : "Checking to see my eligibility for $10/month off my account for signing a new 2 yr agreement? My contract ends soon."
06/01/2010 01:16:14PM Agent (Samantha S): "Hello."
06/01/2010 01:16:30PM : "Hi!"
06/01/2010 01:17:05PM Agent (Samantha S): "Please allow me a few moments to check this for you."
06/01/2010 01:17:16PM : "thank you"
06/01/2010 01:18:05PM Agent (Samantha S): "You are welcome."
06/01/2010 01:19:10PM Agent (Samantha S): "thank you for your time."
06/01/2010 01:20:08PM Agent (Samantha S): "I can see that you are eligible for $150.00 upgrade eligibility with a two year subscriber agreement."
06/01/2010 01:20:33PM : "Correct"
06/01/2010 01:21:01PM Agent (Samantha S): "And you are eligible for $75.00 agreement with a 1 year subscriber agreement."
06/01/2010 01:22:39PM : "I've known others whose contracts were expired or close to expiring who were offered $10/month off their bill to sign for a new 2 yr contract. Am I not eligible for this offer?"
06/01/2010 01:24:13PM Agent (Samantha S): "I am sorry but we are not authorized to apply the monthly $10.00 credit on your account. However, if you wish, I can give you one time renewal credit of $70.00 for signing 2 years of agreement."
06/01/2010 01:25:15PM : "would this affect me upgrade eligibility? considering getting the new phone on Friday?"
06/01/2010 01:26:18PM Agent (Samantha S): "Yes. If you get the contract renewal credit, you will not get the upgrade credit on new handset."
06/01/2010 01:28:25PM : "Hmm, I guess I'll have to explore other options, thanks for your time."
everyone (mostly posters) has told me it does not affect the upgrade date since its based on the last time you used your upgrade. i even googled it to see other forums/threads about the 'renewal' credit and looked like the credit did not affect upgrade status. but its up to you. if i were you, i'd 'call' instead of chat and ask to speak to 'account services'. btw, i dont think they will do the $10/24 anymore
