well, you are introducing some unknown variables (IE: a different route being taken each test, or that test server's load) when you run a remote speed test like in the screenshot you posted. Ideally, you'd transfer a file within your network, say off of your PC of fileserver to each phone.
That way the only limiting factor is your network connection on your device.

That said, a 5mbit difference is pretty sizable...

It is possible that the Hero had a "poorer quality" radio in it, resulting in slower speeds vs the Evo.
IMO that seems a little unlikely, but I have no idea of the exact specs in the two phones.
But, as long as it's the Evo getting the better speeds, I'm happy lol
