might b a windows 7 issue.maybe you can try on a windows xp machine??
u can also try trouble shooting active sync...it gives that option when it runs..
just trying to help...am no expert on rom flashing tho...

u can also try booting a rom from the storage card...
i know the link is there somehere...please search for that
