OK it took me calling in to Account Services... asked about the $10/month discount, said sure i'll apply that now if you want to extend your contract, YES!

I then asked numerous times if this will affect my upgrade since i am getting the EVO on the 4th, she reassured me that it will not since I have been eligible for the Premier 1yr upgrade thing since Feb 19th of this year. I asked for this in writing and she said she will be emailing me my contract renewal info and will note that I am eligible for upgrade now.

Props to edub186. You just saved me $240 bucks.
