On the "Data, Email, and Multimedia" map, however, it shows no 3G coverage but good "Nationwide Sprint Network" coverage (whatever that is). My concern is if WiFi sharing uses the 3G network and USB tethering uses the voice network, then I will need to do the registry edits so I can USB tether while I am there (I currently only use the XDA WiFi sharing program to tether). Anybody know if the different tethering methods use different networks?

whatever way you connect computer to phone (usb, wifi, BT) has no impact on what network the phone will use. Phone will select 3G or lx depends on the network strength locally. I would never depend on carrier map as they are nearly worthless
