But the instability lately, coupled with long re-boot time and Sense stalling on re-boot in the middle of a hectic series of events, pushed me into buying one of the Google IO units. I got it for $400. I can't even switch it over until June 20th, so I have a few weeks to "acid test" it. However, staying up all night has convinced me of the rock-solid stability of Android.

Nevertheless, there are some things I darn near hate about the Evo. 1st, the lack of a keyboard is bad enough, but you can't even use a stylus or stylus-like device to aid you in entering text. It's bare skin only. And with no physical Send and End keys for the phone, this means you can't answer the phone with gloves on. In my trade, sometime I lay my phone on a counter, and have my hands all dirty or greasy. If the phone rings, I can touch the send icon with anything, like a pen or toothpick, etc, then immediately followed by the speakerphone button, and carry on the call. No more. Skin only. But those situations don't happen often.

Typing, on the other hand, happens a lot more, and I really don't like being stuck with the onscreen keyboard. Still, the positives are so many, I will probably make the switch.
Gotta love those times when the TP2 craps out exactly when you need it. Now I haven't been in an emergency but here's some situations where it has did me dirty

  • Bagging a girls number 2 weeks ago, pulled my phone out pressed power expecting it to wake, turns on to TP2 boot screen smh, she still took my number and sent me a text but smh still.
  • When meeting up with my homegirl outside her job, pulled my phone out same shit as above but "Starting HTC Sense" was stuck, had to soft reset, all of this adding mulitple minutes to my waiting (I'm very impatient)
  • While on the road going to some paintball spot in Long Island, we got lost, and GPS refused to get any satellite lockons even though I left it there for like 10 mins.
7 More days and I can ship this piece of shit, good riddance even my TP1 didn't give me this much trouble.
