botnryan's post appears to need a slight clarification.
Holding down on an individual message (or tapping the envelope icon) in the SMS/MMS Inbox will only pull up the menu options for that specific message.
To access the options he is talking about we need to hit the Menu icon (soft key) in the lower right hand corner. Then Select Messages (have to scroll for it)-Select Messages-Several or All like he said. From there you delete messages several at a time or en masse.
