I had mail2web set up on my phone for a while for email, but when they increased the price from $2 to $5 I got rid of it.

Then, I set up my gmail account, and it was working great for a while - email was coming in pretty close to when I received it in my account, and the phone was handling it fine.

Now, the past month or two, the phone is VERY sluggish - I didn't know what was going on at first, but figured out that it was the gmail account sending/receiving. Every time it would send/receive, you could not do anything else on the phone - it was like it was frozen for up to a full minute. So, I went into the delivery preferences and changed it to check every 20 minutes, instead of having that option unchecked. This didn't help anything, as it still checked for messages whenever I turned the screen on, or went into my inbox.

So, I then changed the time to 40 minutes, but it's still the same thing. It seems whenever I wake up the phone, and try to do something, it immediately sends/receives and slows the entire phone down. This is really annoying, and I can't figure out why it is doing it.

Any thoughts/suggestions?
