When I tried to copy it in the past, it wouldn't let me while Sense was running. It could be that if you've been to the Stock tab, it keeps the file open, and if you haven't the file is ok to copy.
Also, just for your future settings sleuthing, Total Commander has a nice 'find file' feature that lets you search for files changed in the last x minutes/hours/days/etc. If you change a setting somewhere and don't see any reflection in the registry, search for files changed recently and you'll likely find where the settings are stored.
