Two things...check in Sounds and Notifications (which I'm sure you did). Are your ringtones that you're using mp3 files? Have you recently installed new audio software (e.g., MortPlayer, etc.) that could have changed the file associations?

I had that happen with GSPlayer. I installed it and it messed up the file associations so that my mp3 files (even ringtones) would only play in GSPlayer...I had no ringtones.
