my problem has been time, i have built a vm to develop in, but thats it.
im pretty sure that i can tackle tinboot.
re: gps, im also pretty sure that the raph800 isn't outputting nmea data like others thanks to an nv value that could be changed, but ive been down that road good luck finding it.
