But now a simple thing, I click start menu to launch htc start menu, click add icon to add new shortcut, add any application. Click start again to return to home screen, click task manager, close the task manager drop down, and weather animations no longer work, until I do reset or reload htc sense.

Can anyone else try this and see if the full screen weather animations stop after doing such things. This isn't the custom wallpaper issue, the animations work then will stop after usage of phone.

The weather animation stops working if you change your background wallpaper. To get it back, follow these steps...

1. Download iSS Registry Editor here
2. Once installed, run it and navigate to: HKCU/software/htc/manila/
3. Delete the content values for CashedBackgroundPath and HomeBackgroundPath, DO NOT DELETE THE KEY THEMSELVES!
4. Reboot the device
5. Set wallpaper to original default, animated weather will return!
