I actually have this issue as well with the HTC youtube app version 2.6.1922.2811. I've tried the newer 2.6.2011.1727 version, but that constantly freezes my phone.

So I've resigned myself to using the official Youtube app. I don't like the way it looks, but it does the job... ish.
