I don't see how people are charged tax for a gift card.. I have bought gift cards previously and I have never paid tax on the purchase of the actual card just the face value of the card or the amount I decided to put on it.. I always figured this was because you're not making an actual "purchase" to get a gift card you're somewhat just transferring funds to a card.. And if you had to pay tax on it, you would be paying taxes twice for one purchase.. A tax to put the money on the card and tax again for the actual purchase you make with the card.. I could be wrong though.. Maybe state laws differ, I live in Illinois and did my Pre order in Tinley Park, IL..
