We really need a sticky for international stuff. If you search on words like Europe, international etc.. you will find a lot on this forum.
For me the bottom line is:
1. Sign up for Sprint International services and get their free SIM Card.
2. Get their data plan when overseas $60/month or $2 a day.
3. Get Skype Mobile.
4. You have data, email, web and voice for $2 a day (beat that).
5. If you do this, you can also pop in another SIM card, but it is not cheaper and you will pay dearly for data in panama I bet.
