i read the whole thread and something gave me the idea the USB port was not detecting by his computer.
that being said. Go into your phone's
Start /Settings/ Connections
Go into USB to PC
Make sure Active Sync is selected.
There is one check box, personally mine is checked" Enable faster data synchronization"
Try flashing from USB cable and PC once with it checked. and once with it Unchecked.
