I know what you mean about removing the extensions completely.
Did you just use the regular File Explorer? I only ask because I've had this exact same issue before, and it actually removed the entire extension so the filename was "RHODIMG" with no extension. I would check with Total Commander as it displays the file extension for every file. If the extension is gone, use TC to rename the file to "RHODIMG.nbh"
