After having used both, personally, I welcome the return of Showcase. I prefer the "hold X to close" method and also am finding that it's extremely difficult to get the HTC task manager to load. Either it's very slow to load and I'm getting impatient tapping all over the upper right corner of my screen or the sweet spot to activate it is very small.
I'll second the sentiment tho, you do what you feel is best for the ROM. I'm just tossing my 2 cents into the hat. So far I'm loving what you've done.
