Yes is completely free, no need to turn on any background data, just the GPS to get you located and to follow your workout through. very accurate and easy to use.
Even and on the end if you want to upload the workout to
www.sportypal.com there is no need to pay for any service, just find a wi-fi hot spot and will do it
