i ended up not using a widget, i created a shortcut to:
settings > battery use
it doesn't give me a % on the icon, but it gets me to the info i want quick and easy...
i wish there was an app that tied into that shortcut, but gave a battery percentage on the icon, and maybe even did the estimated time left, like Battery Time Lite...
