here is something i found online from sprint.
also, op, did you recieve this as a text, or a letter in the mail?

To provide you the best service possible and the most dependable access to the Now Network™, we are discontinuing our dial-up data platform on 6/30/2010.

Dial-up data is the same thing that was used in the 1990s to access AOL or other Internet service providers using a modem. Our customers on the Sprint CDMA network could configure computing devices and download third-party applications to use dial-up data through phones and connection cards.

This change only affects dial-up data, so your phones and data devices will not be affected in how they:
  • Make calls
  • Send text messages
  • Connect to mobile broadband 3G data services

If this change affects you, you will receive a letter from us before the change takes place. This change will affect customers who have:
  • Reconfigured any devices to default to the slower dial-up platform to run an older application, such as:
    • Physically connecting it to a computer
    • Dialing a modem bank
    • Sending faxes
    • Dialing a phone number to connect to the Internet or manage hardware remotely
  • Downloaded third-party non-Sprint applications that use dial-up technology
  • An older 2G device and want continued access to data services

You can avoid problems by taking action based on your situation:
  • Third-party apps - Contact the application vendor for help determining connectivity alternatives.
  • Custom dial-up solutions - Work with the application developer to review hardware configurations and consider alternatives for connectivity.
  • 2G devices - Upgrade your device if you need continued access to data services.

Note: After June 30, 2010, we will be unable to support, repair or reactivate dial-up data applications or networking solutions.
