No, it is a scam. I've been with Sprint for over six years.

Text uses no data.

Pic and vid mail use data transfer to receive the info from Sprint's servers.

With the unlimited pic plan, you don't pay the service fee for receiving picture mail, but you still have to pay the $0.10/kb fee.

It is a ripoff. Unlike ATT or Verizon, who use a separate transfer stream for pics and vids in their plans, Sprint intentionally runs it through the same servers to rack up charges.
