He is sharing an alternative to the Sprint plan. Which isn't a bad one!

I use Squaretrade on a few items (like my new Zune) and I'd recommend them without question. I have had their services in the past and have had to use them. The results were awesome.

They offer a few key advantages over Sprint.
  • You can transfer your warranty to a new owner. Allowing you to give the warranty to the new buyer (increasing your resale value)
  • The deductable is smaller
  • There are no claim limits
  • Probably something else I've missed...
For my Touch Pro 2 I use Sprint and for my Zune HD I use Squaretrade. The reason I use Sprint for my Touch Pro 2 is the quick turnaround. I generally can get a phone the next day which is important.

It is good to know about alternative options though. As both have their pluses and minuses.
