To check for myself, I set up a Twitter account and I also could not log in on the 6.5.X rom (The windows wheel just kept spinning and data remained active)
I then flashed back to stock and I
also could NOT login. The app kept spitting out errors. I got connection error's and also incorrect username/password errors although everything was entered correctly. It may be a server issue on the part of Twitter and after donig some reading it seems like it has happened before.
