Exactly. I haven't noticed anything that I couldn't easily ignore. This is why the Android Market has the highest percentage of free apps. Approximately 61% of the 38,000 apps available are free, and most have a premium version for $1-2 dollars that have no ads.
I don't think any ads are cooked into the development itself, but they are in the apps that have been bundled.
Edit: and with this post I just hit n00b status... kinda liked lurker better but I guess I am moving up in the world
