I see no point for WIFI when I have a friend with a Mogul who will come over my house and get on my wireless home cable network and will go online and his data transfer speeds are no faster than mine on the EVDO network. And to be completely honest, once the Rev A update comes out for the Touch, I will probably be moving at higher speeds than him so NO, I do not need the WIFI. It's just an extra that drains the battery as far as I'm concerned and since I have unlimited internet on my phone, I have no need to drain my battery faster anyway...
