because I wanted a nearly full desktop experience with a phone. Windows Mobile is really the only one that comes close to it (even though I'm an Ubuntu user). Iphones are too basic (even the multitasking coming up doesn't come close to actually replicating what would be a desktop environ) and neither does android or webos (though webos is actually my current favorite, I just hate the hardware). I was originally aiming for Maemo, but the n900 is only 3g on tmobile. I may switch to the Evo when reviews hit for it, but if Nokia announces a sprint 4g/3g or att 3g capable device then I'll be on that instead, as Maemo seems to be the only OS aimed at what I'm actually looking for.
