I was able to locate the Corporate Calendar .apk, but it seems as though I need to enable this account type before I can get the calendar and contacts to sync.

You need to have the corporate email application on the phone for the corporate mail to work. It sounds like you may have not de-selected the mail app on the screen where it details applications to not install.
