I unchecked that and then I went through the instructions from google's site. When it asked for username, you put your username@gmail.com not username@googlemail.com. Then I checked off whatever I wanted it to check off and now its syncing! Thanks again. I'm sure there's options for how many messages to download and such so I'll be fiddling with it on my own time.

As for the shortcut, I get your instructions but since I'm pretty new to this, I'll be learning more before I try it. Thanks for the info. Super helpful.

Sigh I have another question...not related to the ROM or flashing...I have the phone connected via USB to my work computer but it says its not getting enough power and to either close some programs or switch to AC adapter. Does the TP2 not draw enough charging power via USB? It worked fine for my HTC Touch whenever I charged at work. Would a different USB cable matter? I've seen issues in the past where some USB cables worked better than others. For example, I have a cable at home which would not activesync to my computer with my Touch but it would charge the phone (however slowly it does). Once I switched cables, it would activesync like nobody's business. Granted these two cables weren't the ones that came with the phone but back then I had no idea there were different types of USB cables.
It should work fine plugged directly into any computer... I used to be able to charge my original touch pro from the usb port on my work PC's keyboard... that will NOT work on TP2, which draws to much energy, has to be a direct connection into a PC USB port, not an external USB port...
