Nice detailed description but at step 7 that would make the signature for his text messages instead he will want to choose his email account name

2nd: Yes, I've been using Waze as a fully-functioning GPS! I think it has trouble reading satellites from a "cold start," so to speak. What I've been doing is running QuickGPS and downloading satellites right before running Waze (even if I've got a good five days before the data expires). I don't know if it's a coincidence or what, but Waze works fine for me after that.

I see, I guess Ill give Waze another try. Since I live in a large city I am hoping there is some are some users here (houston) maybe ill use a GPS primer or run google maps in the background as well.
