well anythng is possible but..... The reason it works using a ISDN/PRI is that the telco is accepting the id from the PBX through the D channel. So yes, using a ISDN test set or software on a PBX, you can send whatever id on that ISDN/PRI circuit.

Sprint does not use ISDN/PRI circuits to the telco, they have multiple channelized T1's to various telcos, the caller id is sent across an SS7 link through an STP to the telco.
