I just found out that there may be a way to update Garmin Mobile XT maps to Garmin City Navigator® North America NT 2010 maps
. Cost $70 to even try this, but at least there is an option. I have not tried this yet myself, but it comes from
the T-Mobile forum's HD2 section where someone explained.

there is a legitimate way to update your maps on garmin xt...download city navigator 2010 north america and it will update the maps that came with xt. i had the 2009 map on mine and downloaded and transferred over the 2010 map and it worked. and it's not copied over the top the .img is named different than the stock map so xt uses both maps...if you put it on your xt...when you start it go to settings--manage data---map sets...and you will see both stock map and update...just be aware that this update is like a gig. https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?...ue#overviewTab
