2 - using a regedit program

7 - Connect to the Laptop/PC via USB
8 - Done. No other applications needs to run on the PC/Laptop.

So, I tried this, but when I start the Internet Sharing application, the only connection I can choose is "none." Any thoughts?
I have the HTC WiFi working via
these instructions. But, I'd really like to be able to do it the old fashioned, wired way, too.
