Ok well I solved it sort of. After dicking with it I relied I just do not have the time nor patience to screw around with piddly stuff and Microsoft these days. Sucks to not be 16 any more

so I just grab some new parts from my room and built a new computer and installed Windows Vista Home Premium on this one.
Everything worked great this time!
I hooked the device up Windows installed drivers right away then I rebooted and installed the drvupdate-x86.exe from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
And that out the new graphical WMDC and synced up again. Device works perfect.
IMPO it was a F'ed install of Vista.
