I've been looking for a clean 23557 build ROM... glad I stumbled on this. However, is there a way to disable that memory count on the taskbar (number that keeps changing with use -- I believe it's memory that it's keeping track of)?

Want to experiment more with this (I can give you some good feedback), but let me know if you can help me with that.

Thanks!

That's xHook/xTask. If you go into the settings of xtask, there is an option to turn off the memory display.
The fastest way I've found to get into those settings is to use your stylus and 'drag' one of the task icons onto the screen. That will pop up about 9 options, and one of them is 'Taskman'. That will show a listing of all running apps.
There should then be a little down arrow in the top/right corner. Click that, got to 'System' then 'Setting'.

Might be an easier way, but that's my method.
