soooooo now my phone progress bar is reading "0" and he progress bar on the utility is reading "0" and after several minutes it comes back some error regarding communication and I have to basically start over.
What am I doing wrong?

sounds like you didn't unlock it first. goto the HSPL Unlocker thread...
