Re: power button issues on 6.5?

I skimmed and read a lot of the posts, and I'm kinda looking at my own phone right now, wondering if maybe i know a workaround. I read someone mention that it happens when the phone falls asleep. Anyways... If your situation is like mine than I may know a workaround for you at least until htc or someone comes up with a proper fix.

Just to compare what i thought was happening to something else. How many of you have ever experienced problems with windows itself, where when it sleeps or hibernates, at times the machine didn't want to wake up. So we had to reboot. It didn't happen when the display would shut off only when it went to sleep or hibernate. That used to bug me so much, I just disabled it.

I did the same thing with my touch pro2. It's fairly new to me, in fact I haven't even unlocked it and flashed a new rom yet. So, since my phone was essentially untainted and having the problem so many of you are experiencing, and now that i'm hearing that 6.1 didn't have the problem (rules out hardware issues), i'm gonna say it's something wrong when the device sleeps. Some apps, I noticed made it worse (ie S2U2 with the sleep options), and i'm sure some others that push the device into sleep mode or somehow create a conflict (apparently waking from sleep mode).

So anyways, I endured the same problem almost right out of the box for a couple weeks irritated by its intermittent appearance (no rhyme or reason). So I just disabled the device from sleeping.

I'm not exactly sure how much of a difference it's making on the battery life, but i'm loving this phone so much, that I don't let it sleep much anyway, plus the display will still shut off (saving power there when your not using it), and I'm still using S2U2 (just had to play with the settings to ensure it put the TP2 to sleep. For system settings, just went to Start\Settings\System\Power\Backlight and on both battery power and external power unchecked "Turn off device if not used for:" for both Battery Power and External Power. In S2U2, I went to S2U2 Settings and under Power unchecked "Power Off in" for both Battery and External Power.

Anyways, it's just a temp workaround not a fix to the sleep problem. It just helps keep my sanity in check. I'm pretty happy with it now and the problem seems to have completely 100% disappeared. Hope this helps someone out there.
