Thanks for noticing that! I never use alarms but can confirm after testing that it will not allow the sound to play from an alarm. It will turn the screen on but that's it (which isn't very helpful). Are you saying that installing g-alarm fixes the issue while having the lockscreen installed?

The actual text message (or email) will only show up if there is only one new notification. For example if you have 1 new email, one missed call, and one new SMS it will show the other way. Also, if you tap on the screen it will remove the notification (for a minute) and show the text
slide to unlock, then about 10 seconds later the notification will come back up. I hope this helps.
