For item 2 its been discussed and a cab posted to stop the clock flipping. Thats how sense 2.5 does it.
Items 1 & 3. You have to select wifi tethering from tools folder and select use these settings next time for it to ungray out from comm mgr. Both of these items fully work on mine an everyone else's. Must be something to do with your individual setup.
