This helped but after deleting it. It comes back after a soft reset but the string I deleted was not found in the registry any more, but the icon is still in the settings folder  ...and still works fortunately. |
go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila
IsShortcutEnable set to 0
(might have to set those icons to hidden in /windows/start menu/programs with total commander,etc. try the registry first though).
