Task 29 essentially wipes all of the blocks to zeros, thereby fully scrubbing all data from all the blocks (it's actually more complicated than this - task 29 wipes all BINFS data where the XIP lives). As I said before, it could be any number of things causing your wifi to partially not work. But task 29 and reloading a fresh ROM almost always fixes issues like yours. If you wanna go nuts, run task 29, then flash to your carrier's stock rom, then activate your phone and call your voicemail to ensure it works, then load Mighty again
